HART, Mich. (WOOD) - A husband allegedly struck his estranged wife and her boyfriend with his truck on Monday, killing the woman and seriously injuring her boyfriend.

It happened around 1 p.m. at the intersection of 88th Avenue and Fox Road in Hart in rural Oceana County.

Witnesses said the boyfriend, Sabastian Rios-Guerrero, was working for nearby Longcore Farms.

Police said Rios-Guerrero called the wife, Andrea Garcia-Gonzalez, and the husband to meet him at the intersection.

"The husband was called here with his wife or estranged wife and a boyfriend," said Lt. Craig Mast of the Oceana County Sheriff's Department.

Garcia-Gonzalez arrived first.

"She arrived here in a vehicle and she met her friend who was working roadside," said Lt. Mast. "He was in one of the asparagus pickers roadside. And he came over and was talking with her in the roadway and that's when her estranged husband drove up on them."

The 39-year-old husband then allegedly approached in a large farm truck at a high rate of speed and struck both the wife and the boyfriend.

Garcia-Gonzalez was dragged under the truck for some distance and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The husband then allegedly turned his truck around and struck Rios-Guerrero a second time. Witnesses said the boyfriend also ended up pinned beneath the truck.

He was airlifted to a Grand Rapids hospital in critical condition.

Investigators had to call in an interpreter as there was a language barrier involved.

Investigators are trying to determine if the couple were still married. They were in the process of getting a divorce. They have four children together.

"Currently, the husband is in the Oceana County Jail and he's going to be charged," said Lt. Mast.

Police said they will recommend manslaughter charges, but that is subject to change depending on whether the boyfriend survives and once the county prosecutor receives the case.
