HESPERIA, Mich. (WOOD) - A 12-year-old Hesperia girl died Sunday afternoon in what police say appears to be a "tragic accident."
Brittney Olson was riding her bicycle southbound on South Bon Street and failed to stop at the signed intersection of South Street. She rode into the path of oncoming traffic and was struck by an eastbound vehicle driven by a 48-year-old woman, according to an Oceana County Sheriff's Department news release.
The accident occurred at 1:18 p.m. An ambulance responded to the collision but Brittney was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
