CHEBOYGAN, Mich. (AP) - A twist on the traditional triathlon will take place in August at Cheboygan State Park.
The adventure-sprint triathlon involves kayaking 2 miles, biking 8.5 miles and running 4.5 miles. A portion of the run will take place on the beach and crosses Little Billy Elliot Creek.
Registration for the Aug. 27 event will begin that day at 8 a.m. in the park's day use area. The race begins at 9 a.m. T-shirts will be provided for those who pre-register by calling 231-627-2811. The nonrefundable registration costs $35.
It's the third GO-Get Outdoors triathlon at the park located in Cheboygan. Spectators can watch from the day use area.
