WHITEHALL, Mich. (WOOD) - Whitehall District Schools are closed Thursday after the air was let out of the tires of 18 buses at the bus garage, according to the Muskegon County Sheriff's Department.
Police originally told 24 Hour News 8 that the tires were slashed.
The district posted a statement on its Facebook page --
"No school today, Thursday, March 7th, 2013. Our busses are not operable and we transport 1400 students out of 2100. We are not able to get them running within two hours or even by noon. We will post information as we receive it in an effort to keep you informed. I apologize for the inconvenience and late notice."
