MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) - The CEO of Shape Corporation is facing a 5-year felony for a fiery sports car crash in Norton Shores that injured both his passenger and him.

Thomas DeVoursney had no alcohol or drugs in his system when he wrecked his 2006 Ford GT on Sternberg Road in September 2011. He lost control of the car, skidded across five lanes of traffic and slammed into a pole, police said.

DeVoursney, 53, and his 52-year-old passenger, Anthony Wilson, were seriously hurt.

He faces a charge of driving causing serious impairment of a body function.

Their website states, "Shape Corp. is a global leader in impact energy management systems that protect occupants, pedestrians and vehicles. Headquartered in Grand Haven, Mich., Shape Corp. is a full service supplier providing design, engineering, testing and manufacturing for plastic and metal solutions in North America, Europe and Asia."
