MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) - Authorities from three Muskegon-area law enforcement agencies arrested a man after he fled the scene of a crash and then led authorities on a car chase.
Sunday afternoon a red pickup truck with a snow blower in the bed was involved in a crash. Instead of stopping, the driver fled Muskegon police officers. As the truck crossed jurisdictional lines, it was chased by different agencies.
The chase was then picked up by Norton Shores police until the truck went down Sherman Avenue, and was then handed back off to Muskegon police as the vehicle drove along Laketon Avenue.
Once the vehicle headed north on U.S. 31, City officers backed off the pursuit, which was picked up Muskegon County sheriff's deputies on the highway.
The vehicle exited the highway onto Holton Road in Muskegon Township and was then involved in a second crash.
The suspect tried to flee on foot, but was apprehended a few minutes later.
There were no injuries in that final crash.
The suspect, who has not yet been named, is expected to face charges of fleeing and eluding police, resisting and obstructing officers, fleeing the scene of a hit-and-run accident, and driving on a suspended license.
