MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) - The woman who had an inappropriate relationship with the former superintendent of Portage Public Schools, which cost him his job, has left a position at a Muskegon charter academy, according to the Muskegon Chronicle.
Patricia Koeze was hired as superintendent of WayPoint Academy on Jan. 14, according to the Chronicle. She resigned Thursday, a school official told the Chronicle, but officials declined to provide more details about why Koeze left the district.
Former Portage superintendent Ric Perry resigned under protest earlier this month after allegations arose that he and Koeze -- then the human resources director in Portage -- were involved in an "inappropriate relationship," which the school board said led to him showing her favoritism.
The district also charges that Perry lied to the board on multiple occasions about the affair before finally admitting to it in July 2012.
Portage Acting Superintendent Rob Olsen told 24 Hour News 8 this week that Koeze was in the process of resigning from the district.
