FRUITPORT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Police continue to investigate recent daytime home invasions in Fruitport Township.
Electronics, jewelry, and other valuables were stolen from inside the homes.
The invasions took place at the following:
During each of the invasions, the homes were entered forcefully.
Police say the burglars will sometimes knock on a door to determine if anyone is home before forcing entry into a home. If someone does answer the door, the burglar may ask for a fictional friend, claim they are at the wrong house, they need gas, they need directions, they are selling something, or offer some other excuse for making contact at the home, according to police.
Residents are also encouraged to lock their windows and doors, use deadbolt locks, invest in an alarm/surveillance system, or get a dog.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact them immediately and report suspicious persons in the area. The Fruitport Township Police Department can be contacted at (231)865-8477 or call Silent Observer at (231) 72-CRIME.
