NORTON SHORES, Mich. (WOOD) - Two of three suspects have been arrested in connection with a pickpocket and credit card fraud case in Muskegon County.
The Norton Shores Police Department received a report Dec. 6 of someone who had been pickpocketed while in the parking lot of the Meijer store, 700 W. Norton Ave.
There had also been another report of an attempted pickpocketing incident with the same circumstances, according to a news release.
Police said the female suspect approached men in the parking lot and requested assistance with her vehicle. While the men checked the oil under the vehicle's hood, the suspect stole their wallets.
The suspect and acquaintances then used the victims' credit cards throughout Norton Shores and Fruitport Township, police said.
Similar incidents occurred in Muskegon and Grand Haven Township.
Then on Dec. 18, Norton Shores police arrested two people relating to this case during a joint investigation with the Muskegon Police Department and Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.
Two charges are pending against the two suspects, with the investigation continuing on a third suspect, police said.
