MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) - One person was arrested after an alleged assault forced some streets in Muskegon to be closed while police surrounded a building near Lincoln Street and Sherman Boulevard.

Early Monday, someone called 911 and reported a woman was assaulted at a specific address in Muskegon.

The person who called police left the house, leaving the alleged victim, her child and the suspect - her boyfriend - in the house.

When police arrived, they looked inside and saw people, but no one answered. Police weren't sure if the alleged victim and her child were being held against their will or if the people inside were simply ignoring them.

The police then used a bullhorn to get their attention, but again no one answered.

After about seven hours, the Michigan State Police arrived with an armored personnel carrier.

That's when the alleged victim of the assault called police and asked why so many police were outside her house. At that point, a man inside was taken into custody.
