MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WOOD) - An enrollment fair for the new charter Muskegon Heights Public School Academy System will be held on Saturday.
More than 500 students have already enrolled in the four schools.
The fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Muskegon Heights High School.
Officials at the school said this is an opportunity for parents to enroll their children and meet the heads of the schools, including teachers and staff.
Free food and refreshments will be provided, along with children's activities and raffles.
If it rains, the event will be held in the gym.
In the first two and a half weeks registration was opened in July, only about 250 students -- 100 of which were kindergartners -- registered . 24 Hour News 8 also learned that 169 students applied to attend other schools in the area through the schools of choice program.
