Person shot after argument in Muskegon

33-year-old victim is in critical condition

MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) - A 33-year-old Muskegon resident is in critical condition at a hospital after being shot in the chest and neck early Tuesday morning.

Officers were dispatched at 1:15 a.m. regarding a shooting in the 400 block of Muskegon Avenue. Witnesses told police a possible shooting victim was running from the area.

Police arrived and "could not immediately locate a victim but found evidence that would indicate someone had been injured at this location," according to a news release.

The victim was found about a block away near Fifth Street and Houston Avenue, and transported to a hospital.

24 Hour News 8 saw authorities taking pictures and placing about 20 evidence markers at the driveway of the home where the shooting occurred on Muskegon Avenue. A neighbor told 24 Hour News 8 several gunshots were heard just before 2 a.m.

Police said It is believed there was argument inside the home between several people that escalated into gunshots being fired at the victim.
