A couple parked near the end of Creston Street called authorities just after 2:30 a.m. Saturday to report a car that went down a ramp and into the river.

The witnesses reported the car floated down the river; but when Duell tried to get out, the car sank.

Township police officers and firefighters came out to the scene to search for Duell; some of the firefighters went into the frigid water to find her.

Firefighters recovered Duell before 3 a.m.. She was taken to an area hospital, but was pronounced dead later in the morning.
