MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) - A man accused of calling in a bomb threat at a courthouse was arrested after being spotted in an elevator in the building.

The Muskegon County Sheriff's Department received the threatening phone call at 11:30 a.m. Monday.

The suspect made the call in hopes of shutting down the building and delaying his sentencing hearing for credit card fraud.

Investigators traced the suspect using caller ID.

Captain Mike Poulin, with the Muskegon County Sheriff's Department, gathered more information while at the prosecutor's office. He left the office with a picture of the suspect and then waited for an elevator.

When the doors opened, there was a man inside the elevator who resembled the suspect -- John Frederick Reeves, 49.

Reeves was questioned and later arrested and charged in connection with making the bomb threat call to the Hall of Justice.
