MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) - A 51-year-old man, accused of forcing his mother to live in filth, was found competent to stand trial.

Mark Anderson's attorney requested the psychiatrist's examination for the Muskegon native. In a ruling Wednesday, Judge Timothy Hicks said Anderson will stand trial for abuse.

Lucille Anderson, 85, was forced to live in horrendous conditions, and hadn't been bathed in a year.

Anderson is scheduled back in court June 4.
