DALTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A woman died and two men were injured in a two-vehicle crash on an icy Muskegon County road Sunday afternoon.

The wreck occurred just before 4 p.m. on Tyler Road west of Russell Road in Dalton Township, according to the Muskegon County Sheriff's Office.

The driver of an eastbound Chevrolet Beretta lost control, an initial investigation revealed, causing the car to slide into oncoming traffic, hitting a Ford Escape.

The driver of the Beretta, Roxanne Fiedorowicz, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kirk Creighton, her passenger, was taken to Hackley Hospital in Muskegon and later transferred to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids for treatment to serious injuries. He is in fair condition as of Monday morning.

The driver of the Escape, Darren Flowers, sustained minor injuries and obtained medical treatment on his own.

Authorities are still investigating the crash and trying to determine if speed and alcohol were also factors.
