GREENVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) - United Solar in Greenville will not be auctioned off Tuesday as originally planned.
United Solar's parent company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in February.
The company was hoping to sell off United Solar -- also known as Uni-Solar -- through an auction, but they've been unable to find a qualifying bid.
Now, the company is looking to sell its assets and cut jobs. Many workers were already on furlough.
At its peak five years ago, 424 people worked at the Uni-Solar plant in Greenville.
United Solar made thin-film solar products for rooftops.
