HOWARD CITY, Mich. (WOOD) - The Tri County Middle School principal is temporarily off the job.

Superintendent Allen Cumings sent a letter to those in the Montcalm County district regarding the incident --

"Principal Bill Cichewicz has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation into alleged financial irregularities. During an unusual time such as this, I ask that you help us communicate to your students, the importance of refraining from speculation and rumor that can be both unfair and unproductive. On our part, we are committed to a fair and thorough review and investigation, and to inform you when our review is complete and appropriate action taken, if any. We are working with investigative authorities to bring this matter to an appropriate conclusion.

"High School Principal, Kurt Mabie, will serve the middle school while this matter is under investigation. Please give him your support and assistance as he steps into this additional role.

"As our school year draws to a close, there are many accomplishments to celebrate. In the days ahead, we will continue to provide your students with an excellent academic experience and support them as they welcome the summer and look forward to next year. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me at 616-636-5454."
