MCBRIDGE, Mich. (WOOD) - A bullet shot during target practice inside a building went through a wall and hit a vehicle passing by.
The driver, Doug Davis, was not injured.
He was traveling north along Wyman Road near Coral Road in McBride around 4:32 p.m. Feb. 10.
The stray bullet entered the passenger side front window of his vehicle and went through the passenger front seat headrest, according to the Montcalm County Sheriff's Department.
The 67-year-old McBride resident called 911.
Police arrived at the scene to begin an investigation and located the bullet inside Davis' vehicle. The bullet was fired from either a .357 revolver or a 9mm handgun, police said.
Two people had been target practicing with handguns inside a building on the southeast corner of Wyman and Coral roads.
One of the rounds missed the fabricated backstop, went through the west wall of the building and struck Davis' vehicle, according to a news release.
Deputies have seized the firearms, as well as other evidence, connected to this accidental shooting.
The investigative report will be forwarded to the county prosecutor's office.
