Official allegedly stole gas from town

LAKEVIEW, Mich. (WOOD) - A public works director from Montcalm County has been accused of embezzling gasoline from his municipality.
In December 2012, Michigan State Police were asked to investigate fuel theft at the Village of Lakeview's Department of Public Works.
On Monday, DPW Director Gary Johnson was arrested on embezzlement by a public official charges.
An investigation showed that Jensen had been fueling his personal vehicle at the public works department and on the village's dime without permission.
He is believed to have taken more than $2,000 in gasoline, MSP said.
