Car hits 'several objects'; driver dies

EDMORE, Mich. (WOOD) - A Montcalm County woman died at a hospital after being injured in a car accident.

Linda Gardner, 53, of Edmore was driving in her hometown when her vehicle went off the road and struck several objects including a utility pole and tree, according to a news release.

Emergency personnel arrived at the unspecified crash scene at 6 a.m. Feb. 1.

Gardner was transported to Mid Michigan Medical Center in Midland. A medical helicopter then transported her to St. Mary's of Michigan Medical Center in Saginaw where she passed away.

The accident is still being investigated.
