PIERSON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A man and a child were injured after their van collided with a semitruck, police said.
Michael Hallman, 35, of Sand Lake was traveling north on W. County Line Road in Pierson Township.
He didn't stop at the stop sign posted at the intersection of Kendaville Road, police said in a news release, and his vehicle struck an eastbound semitruck.
A 4-year-old child in a restraint seat in the minivan suffered serious injuries in the wreck.
Rescue personnel arrived at the scene around 10:11 a.m. Saturday. Aero Med took the child to a hospital.
The driver of the minivan suffered minor injuries but did not need to be taken to a hospital.
The driver of the semitruck was not injured.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, according to the Montcalm County Sheriff's Department.
