EUREKA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Two men have admitted to police to stealing several air conditioning units, brake rotors and other metallic items from two Montcalm County businesses.
Sheriff's deputies stopped a minivan about 1:20 a.m. Tuesday on M-57 near Southwest County Line Road in Eureka Township after the driver committed a driving violation.
When deputies approached the vehicle they saw the items in the back of the minivan. Deputies questioned the two male occupants of the van regarding where they obtained these items.
Deputies said the occupants' answers were deceptive so other deputies were sent to some businesses in the area to investigate the location of the thefts, police said in a news release.
The owners of Blake Hollenbeck Auto Sales in Greenville and H&H Plumbing & Heating, Inc. in Greenville were then contacted and told the thefts occurred there.
Deputies arrested the men who were in the minivan -- a 29-year-old Kentwood resident and a 24-year-old Dorr resident -- for felony larceny.
