Mail carrier dies in tow truck wreck

BELVIDERE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - An on-duty mail carrier died a day after a tow truck struck his car in Montcalm County.
Jimmie Lee Kostal of Shepherd passed away at a hospital on Tuesday.
The accident happened around noon Monday at the intersection of Derby Road and Fleck Road in Belvidere Township, police said in a news release.
Investigators said the unidentified 21-year-old tow truck driver drove through the stop sign while traveling north, resulting in the truck colliding with Kostal's vehicle.
Kostal was not wearing his seat belt, police said.
The tow truck driver was wearing his seat belt and not injured.
