RICHLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A man with a criminal past has a new charge added to his record.
Montcalm County detectives were conducting a follow-up investigation at a home in Vestaburg on Thursday.
That is where they found a large amount of marijuana in the basement and the homeowner -- 31-year-old Jesse James Cervantes.
The marijuana, along with other items in the home, led to a charge of delivery/manufacture of marijuana against Cervantes who was arrested. His bond was set at $30,000.
Cervantes was also charged as a habitual offender due to previous felony convictions.
The charge of delivery/manufacturing carries a maximum penalty of four years in prison and the habitual offender charge allows the courts to double Cervantes' maximum sentence.
