GOWEN, Mich. (WOOD) - A felonious assault with possible gunshots being fired in a Montcalm County residence is now a "stable situation," police told 24 Hour News 8.
Many police vehicles were dispatched Tuesday morning near County Road 510 (Sidney Road) and W. County Line Road (W. Montcalm Road), southwest of downtown Gowen.
The suspects, an unknown number at this time, are in custody.
During this incident, the Greenville Public Schools were placed on a "Code Yellow" - a designation to keep kids inside and lock the doors. The incident happened a few miles from Lincoln Heights Elementary.
Greenville Public Schools superintendent Pete Haines told 24 Hour News 8 there was no interruption of any school services during the 20 minute code. And, he said, the kids were great.
