HURON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Parental rights have been terminated for a Michigan mother and father whose 13-year-old daughter delivered a stillborn child and hid the infant's body in a friend's attic.
The Huron Daily Tribune of Bad Axe reports the parents agreed to the termination during a hearing Tuesday.
Huron County Prosecutor Timothy Rutkowski filed the petition last month requesting the termination of rights of the father from the Detroit suburb of Roseville and the mother, who was living with her four children in the Thumb region.
Parental rights also were terminated to a 16-year-old boy, who pleaded guilty to criminal sexual conduct with the girl.
Police found the infant's body March 27 in a Port Hope home after the teenage mother sought treatment. The boy was arrested after questioning.
