Zondervan closing Kentwood warehouse

Resulting in 75 job cuts

KENTWOOD, Mich. (WOOD) - A publishing company is closing is Kentwood warehouse next year, resulting in the loss of 75 jobs.

Zondervan publishes Bibles and other religious literature.

Its parent company, Harper Collins Publishers, has decided to have RR Donnelley handle the distribution for Zondervan. Officials said more people are buying digital copies of books instead of hard copies.

Zondervan officials Thursday morning told workers their facility at 5300 Patterson Ave. SE will be closing in June 2012. Laid-off workers will be given a benefit package and assistance finding new jobs.
