WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) - The Wyoming City Council will appeal a court ruling that found their city-wide ban on medical marijuana was illegal.
Despite a state law allowing medical marijuana, the city was frustrated by its lack of clarity. So they passed an ordinance banning it.
A Wyoming resident and attorney sued, and the Michigan Court of Appeals ruled the city can't say "no" to something the state specifically allows.
But the city council voted to appeal. They will use city money to fight the ruling, and expect it to cost less than $5,000.
