2 $1M Powerball tickets sold in Mich.

KENTWOOD, Mich. (AP) - The Michigan Lottery says two Powerball tickets worth $1 million each were sold in the state - including one in Kentwood - as people sought the game's big jackpot.

The Lottery says the tickets matching five numbers drawn Wednesday night but not the Powerball were sold at East Paris Discount Liquor, 2871 E Paris Ave. SE in Kentwood and at CVS store, 13250 Ford Road in Dearborn

Officials from the Michigan State Lottery said one person contacted them claiming to have the $1 million ticket from Kentwood, but have not been able to confirm it. That person's name has not been released.

In the past three years, there have been three other significant lottery winners who bought tickets from East Paris Discount Liquor -- one for $17 million, one for $8 million and just last month, a $110,000 winner.

Store owner Tania Azer said there's no magic at the store, just good luck.

"It's very exciting to know one of the Powerball winners was one of our customers," she said.

The numbers drawn Wednesday night are: 5, 16, 22, 23, 29 and Powerball of 6.

Powerball officials said early Thursday that tickets sold in Arizona and Missouri matched all six numbers to win the $579.9 million jackpot.
