WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) - A man accused in five robberies was arraigned Monday for three of those crimes.
Willie Lee Wilson Williams was in Wyoming District Court and charged with three counts of armed robbery. His
bond was set at $100,000 and his preliminary hearing will be Aug. 7.
These charges are connected to robberies at the Marathon gas station at 44th Street and Clyde Park Avenue, the Speedway gas station at 44th Street and Byron Center Avenue, and the Speedway gas station at 28th Street and Byron Center Avenue.
There is no word yet if he will be arraigned in Walker and Grand Rapids for the other two alleged crimes at the Admiral gas station at Alpine Avenue and Hillside Drive, and at La Familia Stop-N-Shop in the 1000 block of Grandville Avenue.
All five crimes occurred July 26.
Williams was arrested the next morning when Wyoming police officials said they received a Silent Observer tip that a man resembling him was at a duplex in the 300 block of Spencer Street NE in Grand Rapids.
Williams, 20, was taken into custody following a two-hour standoff.
