GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - It's been nearly two weeks since any real rain fell in West Michigan. It's possible some showers and storms may roll through the area after 4 p.m. Saturday and again before noon on Sunday.
Officially, West Michigan is in the Slight Risk Area for severe weather. Winds may be high.
If you're heading to the beach, the Rip Current Forecast is low, but water temperatures are still kind of cool.
But it's hot throughout much of the United States. If you're hitting the road this weekend, keep in mind it's also construction season in Michigan , Indiana , Ohio , Illinois and Wisconsin .
And be nice to your Dad this weekend. As Mark Twain said , "When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years."
