Bomb threats close Walmarts nationwide

Businesses were closed and evacuated briefly

GRANDVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) - Police across the nation continue to investigate after Walmart stores were evacuated due to bomb threats Friday night.

Both Walmart stores in Grandville and Holland Township were evacuated after receiving threats before 10 p.m.

The Taylor Police Department told 24 Hour News 8 someone called the Walmart store in Taylor and told store personnel to evacuate the store immediately. The Taylor location closed briefly around 9 p.m.

24 Hour News 8 spoke on the phone with police in North Dakota and California.

Walmart and Sam's Club stores in Grand Forks, N.D. closed shortly after Walmart received a bomb threat around 6:30 p.m. Sam's Club voluntarily closed because of its proximity to Walmart.

Everyone evacauted the Walmart store in Union Landing, Calif. after a bomb threat was received around 5 p.m.

All of the businesses were searched and no threat was found. Nobody was injured.
