ALPINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Three people have been charged in connection with a robbery at a Kent County video store.
The suspects are 17-year-old Dacari Shamon Allen from Grand Rapids, 18-year-old Nantai Chase Makura from Grand Rapids, and 23-year-old Nicholas Makura-White from Comstock Park.
They were arraigned on armed robbery charges and each had a bond set at $50,000.
The crime occurred 8:38 p.m. Jan. 8 at Play N Trade, 4036 Alpine Ave. NW. The suspects ordered the employees to the ground and stole various items before fleeing, according to an original police news release.
A police K-9 unit was dispatched to search the nearby York Creek Apartment complex where the suspects ran after the robbery. Police recovered some of the stolen property.
A Silent Observer tip led authorities to one of the suspects who was arrested in an apartment.
Detectives and road patrol officers tracked down a second suspect later that evening.
Police originally said there were four total suspects in the case, but have not stated if that is still the case.
