WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) - Numerous homes and businesses lost power after a transformer exploded late Saturday night.
The blast happened just before 11 p.m. at a substation on 28th Street, near U.S. 131 in Wyoming.
Witnesses told 24 Hour News 8 they saw a fireball when the transformer exploded.
Firefighters at the scene said they had to wait for the transformer to burn itself out.
Consumers Energy said the power was later restored, and it is unknown how many customers were impacted by the outage.
