NELSON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Authorities are investigating the vandalism of several tombstones in a northeast Kent County cemetery.

Several grave markers at the East Nelson Cemetery, located in the 8500 block of 18 Mile Road NE in Nelson Township, were vandalized the night before or morning of Nov. 3, according to the Kent County Sheriff's Department.

Among the damaged grave markers were some belonging to military members.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Kent County Sheriff Department at 616.632.6125 or Silent Observer at 616.774.2345.
