WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) - A 29-year-old man is in custody for allegedly stabbing three people at a Halloween party at a Wyoming residence.
A four-count warrant was issued for Joshua Aaron Gruenberg --
-- Assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder (a 10-year felony)
-- Assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder (a 10-year felony)
-- Assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder (a 10-year felony)
-- Habitual offender fourth offense (up to life in prison if primary offense has a penalty of five years or more)
Gruenberg's bond was set at $250,000.
The incident happened around 1 a.m. Nov. 4 during an altercation at a party at 22 Buckingham St. SW.
One partygoer retrieved a knife and allegedly stabbed three people, police said. Others in the crowd were able to control the suspect until police arrived.
Officers saw "a large disorderly group" in front of the residence and in the street, according to a news release.
Grand Rapids police officers also responded to assist in controlling the scene.
Responding personnel tended to the three victims -- a 25-year-old Grandville resident, and 28- and 35-year-old Plainwell residents. They were then transported to Saint Mary's Health Care for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.
Gruenberg was also treated for his injuries he suffered in the fight.
