GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Dozens of slideoffs and accidents happened throughout West Michigan as the snowfall made area roads slick.
Three people - including a 4-year-old - were injured in a two-car crash in the 6900 block of 68th Street near Alaska Avenue Friday afternoon.
The accident happened around 3 p.m. A 44-year-old woman and her 4-year-old son were hurt, as was the 16-year-old driver of the second vehicle.
The 4-year-old was seriously injured and remains at DeVos Children's Hospital.
All three people were tended to by an off-duty deputy and a passerby before emergency crews arrived at the scene.
Storm Team 8 said accumulations will be generally light ranging between 1-3 inches, with a wind that could create cross-drifting on roads, especially in rural areas. Snow showers will continue this evening. They will taper off after midnight with some clearing possible in inland locations.
