WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) - A garage fire in Wyoming had viewers from Kent and Ottawa county calling our newsroom wondering where the smoke was coming from.
Calls came in to authorities around 5:11 p.m. Saturday of a structure fire in the 2400 block of Lamar Ave in Wyoming.
A neighbor in the area called 911 saying the structure was fully involved.
Smoke from the fire could be seen for miles and viewers in Grand Rapids, Grandville and Jension called the 24 Hour News 8 newsroom wondering where the smoke was coming from.
The fire has been put out. The garage appears to be a total loss and it appears most of backyard grass is burned up. The fire also went up a power pole; knocking out power to residents in the area.
No one was hurt in the fire.
