KENTWOOD, Mich. (WOOD) - Authorities responded to a call of shots fired near Woodland Mall Friday evening, but weren't able to apprehend the shooter.
It happened around 7:40 p.m. in the area of The Rapid bus stop near the Flagstar Bank on the south side of the mall. Grand Rapids and Kentwood police, along with Kent County Sheriff's deputies, responded.
Authorities found shell casings at the scene.
Deputies chased a person matching the shooter's description through the mall parking lot, but lost him. K-9 units were also unable to track the suspect.
There are no reports of injuries.
Authorities said it's not yet known who, if anyone, was the target of the shooting.
