WALKER, Mich. (WOOD) - A semi-truck hauling treated sewage overturned near a Walker intersection Wednesday afternoon.

It happened around 12:30 p.m. on Wilson Avenue north of Lake Michigan Drive NW.

Officials at the scene told 24 Hour News 8 there is no environmental or health hazard to the area as the sludge is spilling out of the wrecked trailer.

They said it appears the driver took the corner too fast, causing the contents in the trailer to shift.

The driver suffered minor injuries.

It took several hours for the scene to be cleared.
