GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A Comstock Park man will spend two decades behind bars for making a digital movie with a naked child.
Eric Straatsma, 34, was sentenced Wednesday to 20 years in custody and will be on supervised released for the rest of his life. He'll also pay a $100 special assessment in federal court.
In July, Straatsma pleaded guilty in federal court to sexual exploitation of a child.
Straatsma was arrested March 2 after the FBI searched his residence and found more than 1,000 images of child pornography, including some videos, and more than 100 pair of little girls' underpants.
FBI documents say Straatsma admitted to agents and the father of a 5-year-old girl that he made a digital movie with the naked child as well as previously
molesting a child between the ages of 3 and 9.
