WALKER, Mich. (WOOD) - Police said a man died after he jumped from a vehicle traveling on a Kent County highway.

The driver was arrested and it appears alcohol was a factor in the incident, police said.

The Walker Police Department and Michigan State Police are investigating the incident.

Dispatchers received a call about 2:30 a.m. Friday regarding a body on the right shoulder of U.S. 131 near the Ann Street exit.

Officers arrived and saw the victim who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle did come back to the scene.
