1 man hurt, 2nd man jailed after crash

Charges were later dismissed

NELSON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - One man was critically injured and another man was arrested after their vehicles collided at a Kent County intersection.

Donald Smith was driving west on 18 Mile Road and Harrison Crawford was driving north on Myers Lake Road in Nelson Township.

Crawford did stop at the intersection northeast of Cedar Springs, police said, resulting in the collision.

Crawford, 20, from Stanton suffered numerous serious injuries and was transported to a hospital. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, police said.

Smith, 53, from Cedar Springs was arrested on an alcohol related offense and later released from custody. The charges have been dismissed, according to jail records.
