LOWELL, Mich. (WOOD) - A 17-year-old Lowell girl left home on Jan. 5 and did not returned, prompting concern for her health and safety, returned home safely on Jan. 10.
Ashley Worthington is 5-foot-4, 180 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing black sweatpants, a green shirt under a red sweatshirt, black-and-purple Nike shoes and a large black purse with the letters CC on the side.
In a release on Jan. 9, the Kent County Sheriff's Department said she left her mom's house on Jan. 3 to go to the store and did not return until Jan. 5.
That night, she and a friend were together in Lowell. Two people, unknown to the girls, met them and asked if they wanted to go to Grand Rapids. The friend declined, police said, but Worthington went with them.
She was last seen leaving the Lowell Admiral gas station around 7:20 p.m. that night in a yellow Ford Mustang with a black strip on the lower side.
Officials confirmed the teen returned safely on Jan. 10. No further information is available.
