WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) - Hundreds of students, staff and community members attended a candlelight vigil Sunday night at the Wyoming Park High School football field.

The night started with principal Bradly Perkins speaking from the middle of the crowd and then he opened it up to anyone who wanted to share stories of two teens killed in an early morning Sunday crash. Even as storm clouds moved in many of those who came out stood in the rain to comfort one another.

Krysta Howell, 15, and Timothy See, 17, died at the crash scene on the I-196 off-ramp to Chicago Drive in Wyoming. Two 18-year-old males and a 16-year old male were also injured. One of those victims remained in the hospital on Sunday evening and is expected to recover.

Another teen in the car, 17-year-old Takunda Mavima, was arrested and could be charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol causing death.

A meeting between staff, counselors, and community and spiritual leaders was held Monday morning to prepare for students to return to classes a little more than 24 hours after hearing the tragic news, Perkins said.

A crisis team has been assembled and will be on hand for students and staff Monday at the high school.
