ROCKFORD, Mich. (WOOD) - A Rockford High School cross-country runner on a training run was allegedly grabbed by a man who tried to pull him into a car near the intersection of Concolor Drive and Fraser Drive.
Around 8:25 a.m., police said in a news release, the male runner saw a blue Chevy Trailblazer following him while he ran through the subdivision. The driver reportedly rolled down his window and asked for directions to an unknown location.
Subsequently, the runner said, the driver opened the door and reached out to grab the runner. He was able to run away and asked for help, and said the driver sped out of the neighborhood.
The driver is described as a black man between 40-50 years old, is completely bald and has a short white beard.
The Kent County Sheriff's Department is investigating.
