TYRONE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - The Kent County Sheriff's Department is investigating the validity of a home invasion report.

Authorities were dispatched around 6:15 a.m. Tuesday to a residence in the 1700 block of 18 Mile Road in Tyrone Township.

That is where the homeowner told police a man broke into her home and then fled. It was not known if the suspect stole anything.

There were other family members in the residence at the time, but nobody was hurt, the homeowner claimed.

Authorities set up a perimeter in the area and searched for the suspect.

Then a few hours later police stopped searching for the suspect and further questioned the woman's story.

Police continue to investigate the complaint.
