GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Some young men were spotted on surveillance videos after allegedly using credit cards they stole earlier in the day.
Deputies were called at 8:16 a.m. July 14 to a home invasion report on Catamount Trail in Grand Rapids Township. They arrived and talked to the resident who said the crooks went into the attached garage and stole a leaf blower, radar detector, wallet and checkbook.
Police said the resident's credit cards were used later that day at the Meijer store and McDonald's restaurant on Plainfield Avenue in Plainfield Township, and the Speedway gas station on Leonard Street NW in Grand Rapids.
Investigators were able to obtain surveillance video from the Meijer and Speedway businesses. The footage showed the suspects leaving the businesses, and two of the suspects -- white males in their early 20s or late teenage years -- getting in a bright red, two-door Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
