KENTWOOD, Mich. (WOOD) - On Tuesday, officials with the Heritage Baptist Church in Kentwood told the Kent County Sheriff's Department they did not want to pursue allegations of embezzlement at the church. On Wednesday, the sheriff's department confirmed they are now looking into it.

Undersheriff Jon Hess declined to provide details at this time.

24 Hour News 8 spoke with Pastor Mark Antram on Tuesday. He said, "An incident has occurred and has been turned over to the Kent County Sheriff for investigation. No further statement is authorized pending completion of their investigation."

24 Hour News 8 also contacted the suspect, who refused to comment.
